Delia Sparrow kindly invited me to submit ten Klaus Kinski films for a Film Jukebox on the Electric Sheep website. You can see which ten films I picked here:

With just a week to go until the 20th anniversary of Klaus’ death, I’m hoping that you will all submit your lists of favourite KK films to Du dumme Sau! to share – so get thinking about it and send them in when you’re ready. I like hearing from you!
most of klaus films are pure crap, as we all know. nearly all of the them, to be honest. the only ones with at least a minor intellectual and/or artistic value are the 4 herzog movies and leones dollar movie = 5 out of 137 motion pictures, the rest would be completely forgettable without kinski. These crappy films are trash, but can nevertheless be wonderful for a kinski-fan, because of his personal performance or maybe even only because of his outfit.
my 15 favs are, without any order:
– La peau de Torpedo
– Zoo Zero
– Das Netz
– Android
– Hanussen
– Operation Thunderbolt
– Kinder, Mütter und ein General
– Der rote Rausch
– L’Occhio del Ragno
– La legge dei Gangsters
– Die Kurve
– Das Verrätertor
– Nuit d’Or
– Il grande SIlencio
That’s so true, Konrad – for me, it’s Klaus, his outfits, and how many times (and for how long) he puts his hands in his pockets!!! It was so difficult to pick 10 films – I really wanted Venom in my list, just because of the fight with the rubber snake – now that was AMAZING – but Venom had to go when I was shortlisting… I’ve only seen 6 of the films you name – I need to find several of those with English subs, but it’s only a matter of time I guess. Incidentally, is it really just 137 films? Thanks for participating, Konrad, and I hope that other people will join in and post their favourites here as a little tribute to Klaus 20 years on
